Get to know Mary:
Mary grew up in a military family with much of her childhood spent moving to various military bases in Canada as well as Europe. In the first 7 years of her life, she lived in 9 different homes. Change was her constant, which she believes helped her to build a tolerance and acceptance for change.
Education was always held in high regard in her home growing up, and so Mary pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick, as well as completed her Certificate in Economic Development at the University of Waterloo.
Moving to Moncton with a plan for stay for one year, Mary quickly learned to appreciate the vibrancy of the Greater Moncton community and decided to remain here. She worked in the economic development field for over 20 years where she had the opportunity to coach and guide hundreds of budding entrepreneurs to pursue their dream of entrepreneurship.
Mary’s passion to coach others, as well as to work with youth, led her to her current role in early family intervention for children and their families. Mary is thankful for the support of so many in her life and community who have supported her work in this very active but gratifying role.
Mary is married to her husband of 37 years. They have two children, both of whom work and reside in Nova Scotia. In her spare time Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, running, baking, writing poetry, collecting telephone booths, watching the sunrise and volunteering in the community. Her newest passion is her grandchildren and loves every moment she can spend with them in person or virtually.
